For independent businesses

Being found shouldn't depend on how much you spend on ads. Independents Only only lists independents, and nobody can pay to rank higher.

Who can be listed

• Sole traders, partnerships and limited companies with fewer than 50 staff.
• Not part of a chain, group or franchise.
• You have your own website. Wix, Squarespace and similar are fine; a Facebook or Instagram page on its own isn't.
• Shops, trades, food and drink, places to stay, and local services.

Already listed?

Find your business, open its page and choose “Claim it free”. You'll add a short code to your website to prove it's yours, which takes about five minutes. Then you can:

• show as “Owner confirmed”, above unconfirmed listings;
• write your own description and add your phone number and opening hours;
• add an “Independent business” badge to your website.

Suggest your business. We check it automatically and a person reviews it, usually within a few days.

What it costs

Nothing. Listing, claiming and the badge are free, and will stay free. Independents Only will never sell higher positions, because the moment it did, it would stop being useful.
