It's entirely optional. It never changes where you appear, and nobody else can see whether you've chipped in.

For businesses and organisations that back independent business. Sponsors are thanked on the site, the way a museum credits the company that supports an exhibition. They get credit and goodwill, not influence.
- Town sponsor: “Hertford's page is supported by …”, for local firms that back their own high street.
- Indie Index and Awards sponsor: your name on the yearly rankings and the Awards.
- Founding sponsor: one partner thanked across the whole site.
Our sponsor rules
- Sponsors never affect listings or rankings. Not who's listed, not the order, not the Indie Index.
- Every sponsor is clearly labelled. No tracking, no ad networks, and never in between search results.
- No chains that compete with the businesses we list. Banks, payment firms and business tools that serve independents are welcome.
- Listed businesses can't buy extra visibility. Owners can chip in, but it changes nothing about their listing.
- We can say no to any sponsor that doesn't fit what we stand for.
